Balls Painted Mouthing Off YES (2)I’m reading Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander/time travel series again. I find it wonderfully engaging, again.  The first 4 probably 4x now over the years, bk 5 3x, bk 6 twice, then on to the 7th and final one. The depth and description of the historical details is fabulous. Political, personal, daily life conditions, inter-personal relationships, romantic episodes, sexuality, violence of course, intrigue, all juicy and each time it draws me deep into the story.  For me, it seems to be the perfect escape tool these last couple of months.

Fine beadwork is back in front of me also. After finishing the big sphere, previously published I’m working another project that is really pleasing to me. Winding new thread balls also to begin with Temari. Have you been watching the moon and Jupiter/Venus this month? It feels very cool to me to sit at the shore here and watch them together, close, in the twilight sky. Of course catching a fly by of the Space Station is quite cool as well.

So, this sphere above is called “Mouthing Off”. Various mouths appear in all directions with YES sprinkled around. 14” diameter, sewn and Painted, stuffed with Bison Hair.  Fun and silly, perhaps some loud and cynical, uncertain expressions coming you.

Listening to Candy Dulfer jazz, great saxophone, mellow and sweet.

Gosh, now that I have a list of cool things lined up here that describe how my days are here, it’s time to planet gaze again.  jT

Frog Guru

In the round series 5 is the appearance of the Frog Guru. Every so often through all the years of art work a new frog appears before me. They just ARE, going through life finding the essentials for being.  Me too, in my way. Stillness,  then motion, then stillness again; allowing life to flow by before me. At rest in awareness.

Is it politics, or the universal OM? Are they laughing or crying or screaming? How do we really know what the inside landscape of another really looks like? What does my own landscape have to say? The geometric form is the truncated icosahedron. Each piece hand stitched together into a sphere, stuffed, painted and measuring 14” dia.

Remember that exercise ball you just had to have but never use? Well this is what happened to mine. Using acrylic paint over the surface was a fun way to make it special. Can I still roll around on it? I have a feeling , not any more. 25”dia., a plastic ball, a little paint and many hours of fun and contemplation later, and voila, a jewel to behold.

Another painted basketball. The physical eye sees the world from one dimension, the knowing spiritual eye understands the world through the consciousness. Do we only look at the world, or do we embrace our full knowing? Then again,  how many ways are there to SEE the world around us, inner and outer. I’m quite sure it is as many as we can imagine.

Painted inflated playground ball 18” dia. Design formed to show the geometric dodecahedron structure of the sphere. The pentagonal five sided form represents “life” or “health”.                                                                                        This design forms a gateless protection sign. A circle is divided into five arcs of 72 degrees, a prime number. Five represents the element of Earth.

MEM-ALEPH, two letters from the Hebrew alphabet that represent MA, or the sound of the Divine Feminine and Mother. Mem meaning “water”, and aleph, ” the beginning”. Divine maternity, cosmic birth, nurture, and the female wisdom principle in most of the world’s languages. Goddess of creation is a recognized essence in every reach of our universe. Information source is “The Woman’s Dictionary of Symbols & Sacred Objects”, by Barbara Walker.
